So you’ve decided your destination for the next trip. And you have your vacation plans into account and decided what jewellery you will take along. Perhaps you must have laid all your necklaces and bracelets on the dressing table and they’re already getting tangled. How will they ever make it to your destination tangle-free, clean and organized?
To make your life simpler and jewellery untangled and glitzy, consider these ways for packing them for your vacation.
- Jewellery Case for Travel: If you frequently travel or even if you are travelling for the first time to a specific destination, it might make sense to invest in a travel case made specifically for jewellery. Casually called travel jewellery organizers, these cases doesn’t have to be pricey but of good quality. And a good travel jewelry case must have compartments to keep every jewellery item individually organized and free from scratches and tangles. These kind of cases are perfect to keep hoops, studs, chain necklaces, and other dainty jewellery well maintained and neat. It is completely safe to carry your gold jewellery in these.
- Straws for Chains: Keep chain necklaces tangle-free by slipping one end through a drinking straw then closing the clasp. Use one chain per straw for keeping the chains free from tangle. You can later put all the straws in a toothbrush holder to keep your necklaces safe and contained. Are you also carrying wedding jewellery? A bigger necklace or two in the jewellery mix? - Small Zip Pouches: You know those tiny plastic zip pouches you buy to keep food items in the refrigerator? Use them to store your jewelry for travel. Put one jewelry item in each bag to keep it organized and prevent tangling. This is perfect if you are travelling for a destination wedding and want to carry along some chunky necklaces. Then drop all the little plastic bags into a larger ziplock bag for travel.
Some advice on travelling with jewellery – If you’re flying, pack your gold jewelry in the carry-on bag. Checked bags have a much greater chance of getting lost, so don’t risk. Also, don’t carry precious gems and jewellery for travel, dainty chains necklaces and studs are perfect.
