‘Tribute to Salvador Dali’, Preview of Oil on Canvas Artworks by Rajiv Popley before they go on display at the ArtExpo New York 2018.
This April, Rajiv Popley will be making his debut with an international display at the prominent ArtExpo New York 2018. On display is a collection of beautiful oil on canvas artworks as a tribute to Salvador Dali. The artist will be displaying his works in a preview carefully curated by the famed interior designer & art curator Aakif Habib. The works will be on display at The Bombay Art Society in Bandra from March 15th to March 17th, 2018 & will be inaugurated by His Excellency Andres Collado Gonzalez – Spanish Consul General.
Inspired by the unconventional style & sometimes outrageous artworks of the surrealist Salvador Dali, this series of oil on canvas artworks has been created by artist Rajiv Popley as a Tribute to the Master. “Surrealism is destructive, but it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision” – Salvador Dali.
Rajiv Popley has created two series paying a tribute to the icon Dali, who once said, “Drawing is the honesty of the art. There is no possibility of cheating. It is neither good nor bad.”
The first series ‘My World in a Cup’ shows everyday life around a cup of coffee or tea. It has a vibrant use of colours surrounding a cup, showing the happenings & moods around the cup. From the freshness of java, to cloudy skies relating to a latte, to the Zen one wishes to be in & from twilight to dawn.
‘Singing Birds’ the other series is a rhetorical creation of art, defining a song in every creation of nature. “The Earth has music for those who want to listen to it.”
